Crank the preamp all the way up, turn on x100 mode, and lower the post gain to half. Open up a Blood Overdrive (it's included with FL studio). You should have a growly type sound now, so we are going to add some serious dirt now. Our settings will be the deafault, but turn the mix to 3/4. Open a fruity fast distortion on the channel. Basic Processing of our Basic Patch Alright, so you got through the nasty filtering, congratulations! Now for the fun, distortion! :D First send the 3xosc to a mixer channel. Don't worry about the mids and highs, we'll get them back later.Ģ. We will tweak this more later when we overdrive. Then set the resonance almost all the way up, at least 3/4 of the way. Set the Cutoff, or mod x, to 1/8th, so just below the quarter mark. Set the filter mode to LP x2 or SVF LP x2. The filtering by itself will sound horrible, but trust me on this, it's needed for when we overdrive the crap out of it. Now we head to the filter section in the instrument tab. Detune each osc a very, very small amount, not too much. Then set the first osc to saw, second to square, and third to triangle. First take all the oscillator's coarse tuning (CRS) all the way down. The Basic Patch I'll be making the basic sound in 3xosc, but you can use Sytrus if you want. If you don't have FL Studio you can apply the same concepts to your sounds, just using different names. There is an audio example of what we will be making in my track here: īass starts at around 1:10, the wobble and the growly bass are both from the same patch.
